Tutorial Videos: Bridging the Gap in Online Learning

Findings:

Through the analysis of students’ responses, it was found that they may be able to understand the lessons better because there are no lags in the video unlike in Zoom meetings. It was also found that tutorial videos became beneficial because students can watch the videos repeatedly or rewind if they forget or get confused when studying the lessons. Students also responded that they can understand the lesson better especially those which involve computation. They also feel that it provides them more convenience and ease.

Recommendations:

Based on the findings, the following are recommended:

1. Teachers may continue to create relevant content for the students.
2. Students may be encouraged to comment on the tutorial videos if they have suggestions and/or questions to further improve the quality of the materials.
3. The university may provide trainings or seminars for teachers on learning about others applications and making of tutorial videos to further improve the quality of materials given to students.

Action to Take:

Conduct trainings or seminars for teachers on learning about others applications and making of tutorial videos to further improve the quality of materials given to students.

Results/Impact/ Evidence:

The existing tutorial videos were still used to supplement virtual classes conducted via Zoom or Google Meet. Some teachers produced additional tutorial videos for their classes.
